LV21 will be hosting a participatory public art project as part of the London 2012 Open Weekend supported by BP – a series of sporting and cultural events taking place across the UK which will see hundreds of thousands of people participating in events to celebrate the ‘One Year to Go’ countdown to the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Opening times: 11am -4pm Sat & Sun – FREE Admission
Lead artist Jon Adams comments “This year’s audacious aim for ‘Dysarticulate 2’ is to ‘engage’ artists and audiences, creating and planting ‘paper flags’ recycled from book pages. This is one of a series of ‘in sync’ public ’emplacement’ events where the scale of their showing in the landscape continues the dialogue and conversations reflecting the real issues around disability, our fragility and the nature of public art.”
The LV21 crew invites you on board to contribute to the creation of this unique National and International temporary public artwork by helping to ‘dress up’ the 40-metre lightship with flags and bunting made on the day from recycled book pages.
Dysarticulate 2 lead artist Jon Adams is Artist in Residence at the University of Portsmouth.
The project is also supported by Purple Door and the New Theatre Royal Portsmouth.
