TEA Concerts & LV21 Present Damo Suzuki
We were excited to welcome Damo Suzuki (ex Can) on board LV21 on Saturday 24th September to perform a sell out gig promoted by TEA Concerts. The gig also featured Up C Down C (who were Damo’s ‘sound carriers‘ (backing band) for the night) and French Fire Engine. Tickets sold out fast and were first made available to LV21 ShipMates and TEA mailing list subscribers. We have more nights planned with some great bands lined up.
A River Medway Manifesto | 22nd Sept.
As part of artist Stephen Turner’s Sedimental project, LV21 will host free activities on board on 22nd September. These include a panel discussion to explore a River Medway Manifesto and the unveiling of MV08, a surveillance inspired installation with footage from Moonview, a 2008 commission by the North Kent Local Authority Arts Partnership. Graduate artists from the University for the Creative Arts also debut their short films inspired by Sedimental.

It’s great to welcome back onboard the Seaside Sisters, dubbed “the queens of coastal themed craft” in this review on Vintage By Hemingway, for a week of vintage seaside inspired souvenirs and workshops.
ILLW Open Days Including The Lighthouse Relay Exhibition | 20-21 Aug
The crew at LV21 are once again pleased to be supporting the International Lighthouse & Lightship Weekend taking place on 20-21 August. We are also excited to announce the installation of Siren Signal, a sound sculpture exhibition by artist Steve McPherson commissioned for the International Lighthouse Relay and the Folkestone Fringe.
The Lantern is Lit
This evening the LV21 lantern sparked into life once again. With the help of Gaz Bray (who recently exhibited his photographic prints on board LV21) and Simon Cowell from Britannia Refined Metals the original wiring was rerouted to bypass redundant transformers and junction boxes.
Dysarticulate 2 – London 2012 Open Weekend Event 23-24 July
LV21 will be hosting a participatory public art project as part of the London 2012 Open Weekend supported by BP – a series of sporting and cultural events taking place across the UK which will see hundreds of thousands of people participating in events to celebrate the ‘One Year to Go’ countdown to the Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Light and Dark – Gaz Bray
The renovation of LV21 has continued through the spring months – portholes have been reinstalled, windows replaced and bulkheads removed. Now it’s time to open up to the public once more with an invitation to Light and Dark, a photographic exhibition by Gaz Bray.
Opening times: 18th – 19th June (11:00 – 17:00)
Artist Residency | Public Open Day Weds 20 April.
After receiving a high number of applications, artist’s network Figure Ground have selected 20 artists to take part in a mini residency onboard LV21. Thanks to funding from Arts Council England, the artists will have the opportunity to create exciting and innovative work in response to the space. On 20th April from 12pm – 5pm the public are invited to come onboard to view the work made and join in the conversation.
